Here is another found image. It used to be on Chesterfield Road, Sheffield, UK, until it was painted over. I am tempted to go back and photograph the after stage, although I wonder if that is a bit too needy and anal. Why? That is the question.

This image was created a part of the Host 6 Beauty group show, organized by Host Artist’s Group, based in Sheffield, UK. I used to walk past this at least twice a day for several years and became fascinated by the density of the image and accumulated history.

It’s another found image, although I have cropped it and increased the saturation and sharpness. I also made it “float” in a white frame to mimic the Athena posters of the 1980’s and 1990’s, in order to make sure you know it is ART rather than just a bit of wall.

The title is “The Definition of Beauty”.

This is a found image created by a faulty photocopier. I was working for the Local Authority in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, UK at the time. The copier was marking all the copies with a fault and so I exposed this image with the lid open. Wonderful opportunism from sometime in the 1990’s.

I like it this way up but It could be any orientation.

It might be possible to date it if I were to research the occupancy of the building, the make photocopier and the fault but I probably will not.

I don’t believe in leaving things as “Untitled #1” so I will think of a title for it. Suggestions welcome.

Retrospective is an online exhibition of artwork and fragments 1969 - 2009 that have never been exhibited. These are a few pages from my notebooks. The drawings are exploratory and may or may not lead to finished works. They may be the finished work.

Retrospective is work-in-progress and I will post more soon.
